Tziporah Cohen
BIO
Biography

Tziporah Cohen has an MD from Harvard Medical School and an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. Her debut novel, NO VACANCY, for middle grade readers, was published in September 2020 by Groundwood Books and won a Sydney Taylor Honor, the Jean Little First Novel Award, and was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award. She is the author of the picture book biography ON THE CORNER OF CHOCOLATE AVENUE: HOW MILTON HERSHEY BROUGHT MILK CHOCOLATE TO AMERICA (Clarion Books), the picture book CITY BEET (Sleeping Bear Press) and the wordless picture book AFIKOMEN (Groundwood Books), also a winner of a Sydney Taylor Honor. Tziporah is an avid indoor rock climber and lives in Toronto with her family and many pets.
