Ursula Pflug
BIO
Biography

Ursula Pflug (she/her) is the author of eight books of fiction and editor or co-editor of three edited anthologies, published by award-winning Canadian, US and UK small presses. These include the novels Green Music, The Alphabet Stones, Motion Sickness (a flash novel illustrated by SK Dyment); the novellas Mountain and Down From, and the story collections After the Fires, Harvesting the Moon and Seeds and Other Stories. Over ninety-five stories have appeared in Canada, the US and the UK, in genre and literary publications including Lightspeed, Fantasy, Strange Horizons, Postscripts, Leviathan, LCRW, Now Magazine and Bamboo Ridge. 

Her short fiction has won small press awards in the US and been a finalist for national contests and awards at home in Canada including the ReLit, KM Hunter, Three Day Novel, Descant Novella, Aurora and others. She is a Pushcart nominee. Her short fiction has been taught at universities in Canada and India. Her work has been funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and The Laidlaw Foundation. 

She is an author, editor, creative writing instructor, writing coach, arts journalist and community arts organizer. Pflug was born in Tunisia and grew up in Toronto. English is her second language, German her first. She is neurodiverse, and an obsessive gardener, or used to be before the heat waves/droughts. More here: https://ursulapflug.ca
