Wendy Monica Winter, M.Ed., is an award-winning children's book author who lives with her family where the mountains meet the sea on the west coast of Canada. Wendy enjoys bouncing around like Mamma Kangaroo. In fact, you can spot her on the local mountains bouncing on her local trails and even her skis! She loves exploring new cultures and countries on our beautiful planet. In fact, travel inspired her to write her first book. While teaching in Perth, Australia, Wendy came up with the story, Where’s My Joey?. Her second book, Where’s My Monster?, was released in 2022; her third book is on its way, so stay tuned for more exciting adventures.
Invite Mamma Kangaroo (tail, ears, smile and all) to read and sing about her story of her quest to find her precious little one. This reading can be followed with interesting facts about Joey's friends (mostly Australian animals) and an invitation to ponder what we look for outside of ourselves and, in the end, we have to find it within. Some children answer their sunglasses when they are on top of their head, but others have much more beautifully profound answers.
