Biography

Judith Silverthorne has authored over a dozen books for publication, most of which are children's literary novels, while two are adult non-fiction, one is a picture book and another a YA novel. All feature Saskatchewan in some way, where she's lived most of her life in both urban and rural settings. The people, landscape and history of the province inspire her material. As a freelance writer, she has also written several hundred articles and columns for newspapers and magazines. She continues to write other books, including novels for Chilildren, Young Adults and Adults.
Judith has worked as a freelance writer, editor, manuscript evaluator, researcher, curator, book reviewer, scriptwriter and television documentary producer. She has presented hundreds of readings and writing workshops at libraries, schools and other educational institutions, presented at conferences, for rural writing groups, and the Saskatchewan Writers Guild (SWG) workshop programs.
