Anita Lahey’s latest books are the poetry collection While Supplies Last (Véhicule Press, 2023) and Fire Monster (Palimpsest Press, 2023), a graphic novel-in-verse co-authored with Pauline Conley. Her memoir The Last Goldfish: a True Tale of Friendship (Biblioasis, 2020), was shortlisted for the Ottawa Book Award and a WBNA Great Group Reads 2020 title. A poet, journalist, essayist and the series editor of Biblioasis’ annual anthology, Best Canadian Poetry, she’s also the author of The Mystery Shopping Cart: Essays on Poetry and Culture (Palimpsest Press, 2013) and two earlier Véhicule Press poetry collections: Spinning Side Kick and Out to Dry in Cape Breton. The latter was shortlisted for the Trillium Book Award for Poetry and the Ottawa Book Award. Anita’s magazine journalism has appeared in a host of publications, including the Walrus, Canadian Geographic, Maisonneuve, and Cottage Life, and has received several National Magazine Award honourable mentions. She lives in Ottawa, on unceded Alongonquin, Anishinabek territory.
