Billeh Nickerson, BFA (UVic), MFA (UBC), is a writer, editor, performer, producer and arts advocate. including the City of Vancouver Book Award nominated Artificial Cherry. His forthcoming collection, Blood Clot Banana Bag, will be published by Anvil Press in Fall 2026. He’s also a former Editor at both Event and PRISM international, two of Canada most respected literary journals, and co-editor of the ground-breaking anthology Seminal: The Anthology of Canada’s Gay Male Poets.
He’s held writer-in-residences at the Berton House in Dawson City, Yukon; at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario; and at the University of the Fraser Valley. He has performed at, hosted and produced hundreds of events across Canada.
He is a former Chair and longtime faculty member of the Creative Writing department at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey, BC. He also served as Associate Dean of Arts. He continues to be a strong advocate for students and community.
Billeh had the pleasure to serve on the Writers’ Union National Council on four occasions, including terms as Advocate, Treasurer and Second Vice-Chair.
