GEOFF MARTIN’s essay "The Isabel Letters" won the 2024 Edna Staebler Personal Essay Contest from The New Quarterly. His place-based and environmental essays have been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize and have appeared in Creative Nonfiction, Literary Review of Canada, Boulevard, and The Common, among others. In 2023 he co-founded The Creek Collective in Kitchener, ON, and his first book Channel Migration: Moving with an Urban Creek (co-written with Sydney Lancaster) is coming out with PS Guelph in Spring 2027. His essay collection, finished with funding support from the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Region of Waterloo Arts Fund, is currently out on submission.
