Biography

Su Chang is a fiction writer with a debut novel (The Immortal Woman) forthcoming from House of Anansi in March 2025. An earlier draft was long-listed for the Masters Review's Novel Excerpt Contest, and a semifinalist at SheWritesPress' STEP Prize. It has received praise from Giller nominees Kim Echlin, Alissa York, and David Bezmozgis, and National Jewish Book Award winner Joseph Kertes. 

Her story "On the Run" won a short fiction prize at Prairie Fire's 2023 Fiction Contest. "Busan" won a short fiction prize at Canadian Authors Association (Toronto)'s National Writing Contest. "Don't Look Back" was a finalist at the Fence/International Literary Seminar Fiction Contest, and longlisted for the Tennessee Williams New Orleans Literary Festival Fiction Contest. Her plays have won several prizes and been performed in various theatres and festivals across Canada.
