Kirsten Fogg is an Australian-Canadian award-winning essayist, writer, journalist, and public speaker. She has been shaped by living in France, England, Australia and Canada and by the suicide of her 16-year-old brother.
Her Tiny Love Story appeared in The New York Times Modern Love column (2024). Her essays have been published in literary journals including Creative Nonfiction and The Malahat Review and produced by ABC Radio National Australia.
Her articles have been published in The Chicago Tribune, The Washington Times, The Globe and Mail, The Toronto Star, Chatelaine among others. She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction (2022) from the University of King’s College and she is working on her first book.
Kirsten has worked with young people with difficult lived experiences. In Brisbane Australia, she was the Writer in Residence at Milpera State High School for Refugee and Migrant Children.
Kirsten is a suicide-loss survivor who uses engaging and fun writing exercises to help young people and even adults find their voice. Her presentations, exercises and workshops are centred around self- belief, curiosity and hope.
