Trevor W. Harrison is a Professor Emeritus of Sociology at the University of Lethbridge. He was formerly Director of Parkland Institute (2011-2021), an Alberta-wide research organization, of which he was also a founding member. He was the recipient of the University of Lethbridge Speaker Research Medal for Distinguished Research in 2022 and recipient of the Confederation of Alberta Faculty Associations’ (CAFA) Distinguished Academic Award in 2023.
He is the author, co-author, or co-editor of eleven books, including a self-published book of poetry. A collection of short stories is slated for publication by Endless Sky Books in fall 2024. A memoir of travelling overland to India in the 1970s is scheduled for publication by Athabasca University Press in spring 2025. He is a frequent and well-known contributor to public media, including radio and television.
He lives in Lethbridge with his wife and dog.
