Jessica Scott Kerrin (HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA), along with Nova Scotia colleagues/authors Carol Bruneau and Dave Beynon, will be team-teaching a new writing workshop series called Foundations of Fiction (virtual). This workshop will present three approaches to the craft of fiction, coordinated to ensure new and emerging writers⁠—including those who’ve already published a few stories—are equipped with fundamental concepts and a variety of tried-and-tested techniques. Subjects include techniques for opening a story, voice, dialogue, character motivation, conflict, plot, story structure, and effective endings. The 9-session workshop series will run on Wednesdays, 7 – 9 pm (Atlantic) from October 2 to November 27.
