Fisher Lavell

Biography

Fisher Lavell is a working-class writer. In 2023, her first novel, A Seven Year Ache, was shortlisted for the Margaret Laurence Award. Her second novel, Three Days Till Rapture, won the American Working Class Studies Association's Tillie Olsen Award in 2026. Her short stories have appeared in literary magazines and she has several professional publications in her field, counselling and psychology. She's currently completing Untamed, a memoir of working class girlhood, friendship, and abuse. With two large dogs, she lives in Swan River, Manitoba.
