Irene Fantopoulos is a writer of fiction and non-fiction, and is particularly drawn to crime and mystery. She has published three novels: Murders in Deer Park, All the Evil Scatters, Luck of the Draw, and Burden of Proof. She has published various essays and short stories both in print and online.
In her writing, Irene incorporates elements of her Greek heritage. Toronto often features prominently as a character in her work. Outside of writing, she enjoys travelling and has explored over thirty countries. You can often find her reading on a beach or in her favourite nook at home. Her dog, Neo, is never too far away. Irene works on several projects simultaneously to keep her mind engaged.

She also has a creative writing certificate from George Brown College and graduated from the Humber School for Writers. Although Irene is primarily a right-brained individual, she is versatile and capable of logical and analytical thinking. After retiring from the Ontario civil service in 2019, she dedicated herself to her passion for writing.
Irene actively participates in her community as a Director on the Board of the ArtBarn School, where she takes art classes and leads writing workshops for adults.
