Nathalie Guilbeault is a Montreal-based writer and the author of three books of fiction: Inhaled, When I Became Never, and Cold Chaos: Stories from a North.

Her work explores the quieter and more complicated territories of human experience: trauma, memory, identity, love, loss, and the possibility of transformation. Her debut novel, Inhaled, is a psychological novel about love, loss, and survival. When I Became Never is a dark literary novel spanning generations and continents, exploring identity, revenge, and healing. The novel was named a 2025 Best Pick by Seaboard Review of Books. Her most recent book, Cold Chaos: Stories from a North, is a collection of fourteen stories set against the stark landscape of northern Quebec, where characters confront belonging, isolation, silence, and the often-painful passage into adulthood. Cold Chaos received a Kirkus Star and was named an Editor’s Pick by Kirkus Reviews.

Before turning to writing, Nathalie worked as a human resources specialist and later as an executive and life coach. She holds a BA in Industrial Relations from McGill University and an MSc in Management from HEC Montréal.

Nathalie was a co-founder of The Nelligan Review. She is currently working on her next novels, Summer of Illusions and Penelope Lancaster.
