BIO
Biography

With an Honours English BA from Western University and Humber’s Creative Writing Certificate, Susan has published award-winning short fiction and nonfiction in magazines, anthologies, and online. She was  longlisted for the CBC nonfiction prize. Susan’s short film, that she wrote and acted in, has screened at numerous festivals, and won awards. Her YA novel was a finalist in Screencraft’s Cinematic Book Contest and is serialized on Wattpad. Her play won the 1000 Monkeys Project at Calgary’s Fringe Festival and the new work award at Pumphouse Theatre’s One Act Play Festival. Susan has taught short fiction and memoir, been a contest reader for Prism Magazine, and a manuscript reviewer for Alexandra Writers’ Centre Society. April 15th, 2026, Susan will launch her first novel, a literary thriller Bad Advice through Now or Never Publishing (NON). She also volunteers through PALS in hospitals, schools, hospices, and libraries with her Golden Mountain Dog/Newfoundland rescue, Rebel Rose. When not camping or playing tennis, Susan sings show tunes while cleaning an almost empty nest after raising a blended family of five boys with her husband and muse, Richard.
