Patrick Friesen

Biography
Patrick Friesen is a poet, playwright, essayist, lyricist and co-producer of text/music CDs and of text/music Videos. He lives in Victoria, BC on the unceded lands of the Lekwungen people. His most recent publications have been Reckoning (Anvil Press, 2023) and Outlasting the Weather, selected and new poems 1994-2020 (Anvil Press, 2020). His CDs are O'Keeffe Bones and Buson's Bell. Emissary, Maria (the death of his grandmother during the Flu Pandemic of 1918) and Margaret, Walking (a walk down the main street of his home town during the 1940s) are his three most recent videos (can be found on his web site or on YouTube).
