Eufemia Fantetti
BIO
Biography

Eufemia Fantetti is a graduate of the The Writer's Studio at SFU and holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph. She is a three-time winner of the annual Accenti Writing contest  and her essay, "Alphabet Autobiografica", was listed as notable essays in the Best American Essay Series. A two-time finalist for Theatre BC's National Playwriting Competition, her plays have been produced in Fringe Festivals across Canada. Her work is included in the anthologies Contours, Beyond Crazy, Emails from India, Flash Nonfiction Funny, Body & Soul, Love Me True and the 2012 Fish Anthology. She is the author of A Recipe for Disaster & Other Unlikely Tales of Love, (Mother Tongue Publishing, 2013) and My Father, Fortune-tellers & Me: A Memoir (Mother Tongue Publishing, 2019). Recently she co-edited the anthology Tongues: On Longing and Belonging through Language (Book*hug, 2021). She teaches at Humber College where she co-edits The Humber Literary Review.

Writing Illness, Writing Wellness is a generative nonfiction class focused on the topic of creating essays about ailments and afflictions. Multiple prompts, questions and examples are offered to allow writers to engage with their own health history. Recommended readings (with content warnings) are sent out before the workshop for reference. No one is asked to share their work. Material that is created remains private and with the writer.

Writing the Self is a generative writing workshop on the topic of writing about  ourselves. A generative workshop concentrates on ensuring the participant creates as much material as possible through multiple prompts to use in a future text. An opportunity to delve into and explore the multifaceted self on the page. Recommended readings are sent out before the workshop to be used at any time for inspiration and reference.
