Join author Sal Sawler as they provide an overview of the traditional publishing process, including the differences between traditional, hybrid, and self-publishing. Sal will also cover the steps of researching publishers and agents, submitting your work, and handling acceptance and rejection. Hosted by author Ann Y.K. Choi, this webinar runs approximately 60 minutes, including a Q&A period. TWUC members will have access to a recording of the webinar for a limited time. Non-members will only have access to the live event.

Their early books were shortlisted for the Forest of Reading and Hackmatack and earned a Moonbeam Children’s Book Award. Their debut picture book, When the Ocean Came to Town, was featured on CBC Canada Kids Reads. Their next book, Ellis on Guard, will be published by Second Story Press in February 2026, and the 10th Anniversary Edition of their first book, 100 Things You Don't Know About Nova Scotia will be released by Nimbus Publishing in April 2026.
