Barbara Kyle's new novel The Deadly Trade will be published by Woodhall Press on September 5, 2023. It's the first in a series of mysteries featuring animal rights activist Natalie “Nat” Sinclair and her team of volunteers as they rescue abandoned and abused animals. The Deadly Trade highlights the illegal global trafficking in wild animals, a brutal business in which profits, shockingly, rival those of the drug trade. The story was inspired by the dedicated folks at Animal Alliance of Canada, whose mission is “fighting cruelty wherever we find it.”
