An exciting new anthology launches October 15, 2025 - A Capital Mystery, featuring 21 stories by Ottawa-area mystery writers, all set in the National Capital. With contributions from Brenda Chapman, Barbara Fradkin, Katie Tallo, and several new and emerging voices. Some being published for the very first time. (My own story, Cafe Amore, is included in the anthology.)

Here’s a taste of what’s inside:

An heiress befriends a salesgirl at Ogilvy’s department store in 1955. They fall in love with the same man. What could go wrong?

An unknown assailant is terrorizing a quiet suburban neighborhood in Riverside South. Can a young boy succeed where the adults have failed and put an end to the reign of terror?

An upmarket restaurant in downtown Ottawa is plagued by threats from a poison pen, forcing the proprietor, chef, and a former vice cop turned major domo to fend off disaster, while cooking up a side order of romance.

In the 1850s, a young artist visits Bytown and finds herself linked to a murder when one of her sketches may hold the clue to the killer’s identity.

The book will be published on October 15 by Ottawa Press and Publishing, and can be pre-ordered at https://www.ottawapressandpublishing.com/ Check out early reviews at https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/241377015-a-capital-mystery.
