DAY ONE 
Join us on the evening of April 4 for a panel discussion featuring authors who have successfully shaped their literary identities, as well as a publicist who has an accomplished portfolio of clients and a literary agent. 

Moderated by author and journalist, Jackie Carmichael, the panelists are: 

  • Best-selling Author and Marketing Expert, Bill Arnott
  • Creative Edge Director and Publicist, Mickey Mikkelson
  • Award-winning Memoirist and Essayist, Jessica Waite
  • Senior Agent, BookEnds Literary Agency, Naomi Davis

Discussion will include understanding the importance of publicity for writers, crafting an effective book promotion strategy, the role of social media and other digital platforms, relationship-building, managing public appearances, and more. Time will be allotted for Q&A. 

DAY TWO 
Then, come to the seminar on April 5 and delve deeper into what it takes to put the spotlight on your stories, to lift your voice above the noise, and build your public persona as an author. 

The workshop will cover: 

  • why media kits matter
  • blurbs and reviews
  • hands-on crafting of a media release
  • building social media presence
  • discussions on multi-media strategies, including TV, print, radio, podcasts, online 

Plus, learn how to create meaningful engagement with the literary community and with your readers. Find out how authors can champion their work and still dedicate time to writing new stories and working on WIPs. Take home valuable tips and strategies from seasoned authors who continue to successfully navigate the world of publicity and promotion.
