
Aaron Bushkowsky A prolific writer, Aaron Bushkowsky is a Vancouver-based playwright, film-writer, poet, novelist, and educator. His plays have been produced across Canada and have received 9 Jessie Richardson Theatre (Vancouver Theatre awards) nominations over the last 14 years, more than any other Canadian playwright, winning two for Outstanding Original Play. He has been a resident playwright at The Vancouver Playhouse, Rumble Theatre, and Touchstone Theatre. Aaron also spent a year at the Tarragon Theatre playwrights unit in Toronto and is a graduate of the prestigious Canadian Film Centre in film-writing. He also runs Solo Collective Theatre, a Vancouver theatre company. Aaron also teaches playwriting at Vancouver’s highly regarded theatre school Studio 58 and Creative Writing at various colleges and universities. He has several published works, including two books of poetry (one nominated for a BC Book Award), three works of drama (as well as two translated into French and Russian), and three books of prose. Aaron was short-listed for the Stephen Leacock Award for Humour Writing in Canada for his novel "Curtains for Roy" in 2015. His latest novel is "Water Proof" published by Cormorant Books in 2021. Aaron has been an influential dramaturge, mentor, and teacher to hundreds of new West Coast writers and students. Aaron is represented by Marquis Entertainment, Toronto.
