Lola Reid Allin is a former Airline Transport-Rated Pilot, Class I Flight Instructor, and Flight Examiner, as well as a SCUBA Dive Master, adventurer, and award-winning author and photographer. Her work has appeared in many notable national and international publications, including National Post, Globe & Mail, National Geographic, Santa Fe Centre for Photography, Verge Magazine: Travel with Purpose, Grapevine Magazine, and COPA (Canadian Owners & Pilots Association). 

Lola’s professional affiliations include Women in Aviation International, The Ninety-Nines International Organization of Women Pilots, the Northern Lights Aero Foundation, and The Writers Union of Canada. 

To promote the role of women in aviation and to encourage other females to consider aviation careers, Lola is a speaker for the Northern Lights Aero Foundation. 

She is a dynamic, engaging, and experienced educator and passionate speaker who presents PowerPoint travelogues about her adventures abroad.

She also has two aviation-themed PowerPoints: "Highway to the Sky: Women in Aviation History Past & Present" and "Highway to the Sky: Pathways to Change." 

Both discuss the pathways of numerous female aviators and offer reasons for the low representation of women in non-traditional careers, but the second includes suggestions to change the narrative, personally, professionally, and socially. 

In 2022, she and Robin Hadfield, the International 99s President, created the New Track Scholarship, an annual award for female pilots. 

Her inspiring memoir, HIGHWAY TO THE SKY: An Aviator’s Journey,Journey transcends genres to mix aviation history, the feminist experience, and her personal journey from bullied wife to successful pilot and is a compelling testament to the power of perseverance and the pursuit of one’s dreams.
