Oksanna writes all kinds of stuff for kids—hopefully with humour and heart. Her middle grade book, Katie Crumble and the Case of the Missing Underwear, will be published this spring by Plumleaf Press. Coming soon from Fitzhenry and Whiteside is Tom Thomson’s Paintbrush, an informational text about one of Canada’s greatest painters. She co-wrote and illustrated the picture book, Pirate Glitterbeard, with her daughter, Larissa. Oksanna has also churned out over 30 early readers—the Super Hammy series—for the education market. She taught kindergarten and was an early literacy specialist for 25 years. Before that, Oksanna worked at radio stations in Saskatchewan and Toronto as a newscaster and reporter. She lives in Kincardine, Ontario in a blue house by a big lake.
