Prior to a career in advertising I was a high school teacher in The Bahamas. After advertising I wrote my one and only published work: Finding Lily (2006). Shelagh Rogers said of my memoir: "This is a story that goes right to your core. It's about the nature of happiness and love and what gets you through your darkest hours. This book is a gift." And Jim Harrison blurb's went like this: "Clewes struggles, and I think succeeds, which means he finally understands. This is the most anyone can hope for." Since then, I did a five year stint on the board of IFOA at Harbourfront, taught graphic design at OCAD U, and in a vain effort to raise funds for a literacy charity my wife began, completed three ultramarathons on very hot and hilly Eastern Caribbean island. There, I ran into Prince Harry who told me he couldn't be our Patron as his knees were shot. But as we know now, he was busy writing. So, in my spare time, I'm writing, too.
