We are saddened by the passing of founding member Terrence Heath. Mr. Heath died on January 14th in Toronto.

Between 1966 to 1972, Heath was an Associate Professor of History at the University of Saskatchewan. He left the academy to run Heath Consultants, and later served as Executive Director of the Western Development Museums of Saskatchewan, and Director of the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

Heath was the author of a collection of short stories, two novels, three collections of poetry, two biographies, a film script, several exhibition catalogues, and numerous magazine articles and reviews. He was an enthusiastic volunteer for cultural institutions, working with the Ontario College of Art and Design, The Writers’ Union of Canada, the Public Lending Right Commission, and Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre.

In 1984, he was recognized with a Saskatchewan Award of Merit, and in 1986 he received a Silver Medal for the National Awards for Poetry.
