
(she/her) Britt Gillman’s essays, flash and fiction have been published in The New York Times, EVENT, Eavesdrop Magazine, kerning and are forthcoming elsewhere. In 2023 & 2024, she won second place non-fiction prizes with Prism International and EVENT Magazine.
She is a former librarian, oral history interviewer, communications consultant and copywriter, and has enjoyed contributing to the literary community by facilitating writing groups and book clubs, hosting author panels and open mic nights in celebration of Canadian literature.
She is currently working on a collection of personal essays that explore the connection between familial memories and class through idioms -- a project inspired by curiosity on how language and etymology shapes both belonging and “other-ness”.
