Hugh Stephens is a retired Foreign Service Officer who served for almost 3o years with the Department of External Affairs and its successors, following which he had a successful career as an executive with the US multinational media firm Time Warner where he was Senior Vice President (Public Policy) for Asia Pacific. Since his retirement to Victoria, BC, he has served as a Distinguished Fellow wiht the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, as well as being Executive Fellow at the School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary. He has written extensively on international copyright issues, and writes a weekly copyight blog www.hughstephensblog.net. He is the author of In Defence of Copyrght published by Cormorant Books in 2o23.
