Feeling stuck with your current work in progress? Struggling with your character's backstory? Trying to unearth overarching themes in your manuscript? Want a tool to reflect on your publishing journey?

You're cordially invited to shake up your writing process-- with a deck of cards. No experience necessary.

In this two-part workshop, we'll first cover what the tarot is (spoiler: a story!), and how it can be used as a tool for personal reflection to spark creativity. I'll provide you with a basic guide to "read" cards (with no special training), and how to view their meaning through the lens of your questions. Next, we'll move into a hands-on part of the workshop where you can try different tarot spreads (card layouts) for visual insight into your own work in progress. It's low-stakes. It's fun. And it gives you a jumping off point for your creative intuition. Learn practical tips and tricks to explore the connection between the cards, your characters, your publishing career, and, of course, you!

Let's pull some cards, and tell a story.

Materials:

- If you have a tarot deck, this would be the best option. If you would like to borrow one from Trish for the workshop, please reach out ahead of time.

- Though not quite the same, you can definitely modify a pack of playing cards for the purposes of this workshop.
