Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employees

What you will do:
We are pleased to present an exceptional opportunity to shape the future generation of storytellers and equip them with the necessary skills to navigate the ever-changing landscape of narrative expression. Humber College is seeking a highly skilled professional in the art and craft of storytelling for our innovative Multiplatform Storytelling program (formally Film & Multiplatform Storytelling). The ideal candidate will possess a profound understanding of storytelling and specialized expertise in one or more of the following domains: literature, screenwriting, video game storytelling, or radio/podcast storytelling. While we are open to exploring new and unconventional mediums for storytelling, candidates must demonstrate proven success in their chosen field. Experience and knowledge in adapting stories across different mediums are preferred, although not mandatory.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering courses within the Multiplatform Storytelling program. They will play a pivotal role in guiding students through the process of developing and refining their ideas, skillfully transforming them into captivating stories tailored for the mediums they wish to leverage.

Additionally, the candidate will be involved in curriculum development, course design/revision, and the creation of an innovative and effective learning environment for our students. This will encompass assessing student progress and achievement, collaborating with colleagues, participating in committees and relevant associations, and leveraging strong interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to positively contribute to curriculum development and delivery is highly valued.

Teaching assignments will be based at our Lakeshore campus in Toronto. The incumbent will also provide support for student advising, recruitment efforts, and graduate placement, while actively contributing to program promotion and marketing. Furthermore, the candidate will collaborate with the Program Coordinator on key initiatives, aiming to position our young program as a global leader in Multiplatform Storytelling.
