Gillian O'Reilly

Biography

Gillian O’Reilly has been interested in words ever since she ate the dust jacket off the Shorter Oxford English Dictionary when she was 11 months old.  She is the author of two non-fiction books for young readers and is currently working on fiction and picture book projects. 

From 1996 to 2016, Gillian edited Canadian Children’s Book News, published by the Canadian Children’s Book Centre, and has been inspired by the breadth and depth of children's book writing in this country. She is the 2016 winner of the Claude Aubry Award for distinguished contribution to children's literature.
