
Dr. Kimberly Fraser, author and speaker, is a champion for creative arts, family caregiving, and general aviation. As a nursing professor she studies and writes about family caregiving, home care, case management, and related health policy. Dr. Fraser has embarked on a second career as an author, obtaining an MFA in Creative Nonfiction (University of King’s College) and published The Accidental Caregiver: Wisdom and guidance for the unexpected challenges in family caregiving (Sutherland House, 2022); The Care Book: A planning and resource guide to support your journey from accidental to intentional caregiving (Sutherland House, 2022); Wind beneath their Wings: 100 years of flying adventures in and around Canada’s oldest operating airport (forthcoming 2026, Hancock House Publishers). Kim is currently working on her memoir, Pilots, Polar Bears and Patients: The adventures of a young nurse in Canada’s north and. Kim is represented by Rob Firing of Transatlantic Literary Agency. Outside of her writing life, Kim hangs out in her studio making jewelry, fibre arts, and restyled wearable art mostly from denim–her favorite fabric. Kim also practices and teaches yoga.
