Sophie Donelson

Biography

Sophie Donelson is an author and journalist whose work explores how the built environment shapes our physical and emotional experiences. Previously editor in chief of House Beautiful magazine in New York, Sophie has authored several books including Uncommon Kitchens: A Revolutionary Approach to the Most Popular Room in the House (2023). Her writing credits include The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Elle Decor, Interior Design, FREDERIC, and Maine Home + Design. She was recently the host of the Magnolia Network show Design Defined and is regular host and moderator for design and real estate industry events. A longtime New Yorker, Sophie now lives in Montréal.
