Tracy Kasaboski was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, but grew up in the town of Deep River, Ontario. She has been a writer since the age of five, around the same time her mother bought her a plastic typewriter. She is the author of Mr Isbister's Marvellous Ride, a novel set in England in 1922, about an unassuming fellow of a certain age who transforms his unhappy life with an adventurous and prolonged ride on a 1917 motorcycle. In addition, she has co-authored two books, The Occupied Garden, the story of her grandparents' experiences in Nazi occupied Holland, and The Cowkeeper's Wish, a family memoir that spans 100 years and recounts a tale of poverty, war, heartbreak and love. Both non-fiction books were written with her sister, writer Kristen den Hartog.
Tracy writes in the small community of Laurentian Hills in the beautiful Ottawa Valley, the setting for her current project, a novel about a Birdman and a dog.
