
Lynne Bowen started in Indian Head, Saskatchewan in 1940 and has been moving westward ever since. She was raised in Calgary and Hinton, Alberta. She obtained a Public Health Nursing degree from the University of Alberta, and a Master's degree in western Canadian history from the University of Victoria. She lives, kayaks, and bicycles in Nanaimo and is married with three children. She writes books, articles, video scripts, and for fourteen years was the Rogers Communications Co-Chair of Creative Non-fiction Writing at the University of British Columbia.
