Groundwood Books’ Karen Li has acquired world rights to author-illustrator Nancy Vo’s Ellway, a gently humorous story about a trio of companions who work together to problem solve when they hear a mysterious voice coming from inside a well, introducing children to the concept of language as code while riffing on ideas about understanding, misunderstanding, and what it means to be both an individual and a friend. Publication is expected for fall 2027. The deal was arranged by Jackie Kaiser at Westwood Creative Artists.
